hElP! Troubles with my Air Temp Sensor!
Ok, I decided to reposition the Air Intake Themosensor to the elbow.
..So it was mounted into the elbow and then I cut the clip from the wiring to extend it over to the elbow.
I simply cut 2, 6" wires and butt connected each one to the wires sticking up (from where I had cut the clip)
I soldered the wires to the clip and attached it to the sensor.. but...
the clip was running into the Map sensor. So I simply soldered the two extended wires into their correct places on the sensor prongs.
I then fire up the car and 'Check Engine' Light appears.
And magically Code 11 apears (Air Intake Sensor) So I check and double check everything. I even switch positive and negative sides to see if I had it reversed.. Nothing changed.
does the clip have to be on the sensor at all? I assumed soldering the wires to the ends of the AIS was sufficient. From all angles everything should be working fine and no check engine light. But thats not the case.
Someone please help. I dont want to drive the car while this sensor is tripped.

Is the sensor not allowed to touch anything?
This sux, I dont want to drive my car while that code is tripped.
..and yes, I reset the battery to make sure all old checks had been clear.
Im thinking the clip needs to be attached to the sensor.
Any suggestions?
