HELP!!! stereo install is blowing out a fuse???

thanks guys.

just upgraded the cd unit on my fd using the Bose/Schosche Adapter and alpine HU ,following all the wiring instructions and even getting the stock amps to activate, however---- for some damn reason now the parking lights(tail and corner lights) FUSE IS BEING BLOWN OUT(15W-FUSE) help help what could be the source of the problem.
The radio works fine.

Did you hook a ground up to the dash light wire ? If you have anything tied into that wire try disconnecting it and replace the fuse and see it that helps. You may also have a pinched wire in that circuit as well (dash lights come on with parking lamps)

if you hook up the dimmer wire instead of a true ground to the ground on the radio you will blow the fuse everytime you turn on the lights.change the ground to good known ground not dimmer.

I've seen this once or twice before.

Take out your headunit and the wire harness that goes along with it and tape up or somehow cover up any wire that are hanging around. Those copper wires have electric current flowing through them. What happens is that they touch the metal in the dash and for some reason will blow out your dash/tail lights.

Just replace the fuse and cover up those wires and you should be fine. If the problem persists then you might have some serious problems. I won't get into that unless you come back and it's still happening. :P
