Help, something is wrong with my turbo timer!
Alright, i finally installed my HKS Type-1 Turbo Timer today. I got everything connected EXCEPT the RPM and Speed Signal wires. Cause just now i figured out where the ECU is so i'll have to do it later. Well i go to start the car after installing it and it was real hard to start. I had to hold the key down for like 3 or 4 seconds as it struggled to start. It finally started and drove fine. I dont know what is going on. One more thing, even though i used a harness...i used the ground wire off the timer itself...instead of using the harness ground wire. Should i ground both or something perhaps?

the ecu is in the passenger kick pannel, when u sit in your car, its right next to your right foot
you must take off the plastic pannel first, but before that, you must take off the door sill plate first. good luck, if you cant find it, i will take some photos with a digital cam for you on exactly where it is
BTW: the turbo timer should not have done anything to the engine, did you start it and shut it off quickly or something? perhaps you flooded it a little.

when the engine was having trouble it sounded like it was something electrical. Maybe one of my wire connections is loose. or maybe i need to ground both the ground wires. Is it possible it may have happened because neither the RPM or Speed signal wires were hooked up at the time i tryed to start. I havnt tried to start it since then because i have been real busy with work. I will try too soon though and will post what happens. Thanks for the help.

Even if the turbo timer didn't cause your problems, when installing anything electrical you should always make sure you have a strong electrical ground. I say go ahead and ground both wires.

Well i tried again.... And i think i found the problem. I went to start the car...it struggled...started...and the cabin began to fill with smoke. I never have turned off a car, removed a steering coulmn, then remove the centewr console that fast in my life! Well i guess i spliced the e-brake wire from the Turbo timer into the wrong location...i spliced into a green wire that is under the e-brake. I heatr i am supposed to use 1 of two red wires. I dont see any red wires though? can someone help me find them? WHat a close one! THanks.
