Rarity is the only reason the fd has held it's value after all these years. Had the Rx7 continued, here in America, we would be at the beginnings of the 5th generation. So the 3rd gen would be really worth nothing.

Is that what Geico is telling you? When's the last time you shopped your rate around with other companies?

Thanks to all for your responses. I didn't realize how bad the used car and credit markets are right now. What an eye opener! I've got some time so maybe I'll see how it is this summer.

I suppose I could just turn her into a dedicated track car but that would require a few new mods (brake, fuel and safety systems at a min). Racing is so expensive I might as well just buy the cars and pay the insur premiums!

I'll post some pics this weekend for those of you who expressed interest.

I can't see you getting more than 14-15k in this environment. Depreciation has been brutal to import sports cars, especially since the tuner 'fad' is over and only the affluent and/or dedicated enthusiasts are left in the market. I'm 24 and a lot of the guys who got into the scene with me 5 years ago have gotten out.
