Help with replacement studs for dp

So I'm now working on replacing my stock pre-cat with an aftermarket dp, I would like to replace the studs/nuts but they seem kinda hard to find.

What kind did you guys replace them with? Stainless steel grade 8 x 1.5? These shouldn't have the little threadless gap in the middle like the stock studs should so it'll be easier to get it back into the manifold.

Are there any other choices?

Thanks.

goto pepboys or autozone, they have kits for "header bolts" or exhuast manifold bolts for honduhs in the ricer section, they're really nice and holding my manifold, turbos, and downpipe together

Dumb question - why can't you used the galvanized steel ones at home depot?

I did for the dp to midpipe and midpipe to CB...

Yes, galvanized will hold up better than SS, believe it or not. Cheaper, too!

The stock studs are short (10mm and 1.5 thread). Yours could have been replaced allready. Mine were and I didn't realize it when I did my DP.

Stud part # 9YA9-01-002 $4.20(ea)
Nut part # JE10-40-355 $5.70(ea)

I just went to the hardware store with one of the old studs, and matched it up to one of the kind that has an inverted allen head type of thing. Cheap, easy, and has no clearance issues.

What part #s are those for?

I went to OSH and could only find 10 x 1.5 x 25 and or 8 x 1.5 x 25....

P'cola FD - I bought some of those too, I'm hoping that will work, can you give me the size that you used?

Thanks.

Anybody?

I called up Ray Lochead because I live near him and he says the SS studs only come in the dp kit, and I know he's got tons of that stuff laying around somewhere..... Just being a ***** about it....

I found some at the OSH but don't know if it'll fit..... the length is 25mm........

I just went to Mazda and bought new stock ones. The ones which came with my downpipe were too short and too soft. The stock ones are hard as *****...

Alright I would also like to replace the bolts that go from the dp to the cat. Does anybody know the size/bolt pattern for these bolts?

Thanks much.

I dunno.. When I went to Home Depot looking for replacement studs when I put on my dp, the dude there said he really wouldn't reccomend anything they have there to be put on an exhaust manifold.. Because of the hardness level of the stuff they had.

So I just fought like hell with the stock studs.

I don't think galvanized can stand up to the heat
