help pls. my tacho doesnt work

hey guys i picked up my car today, its a 1995 type RB JDM model. 65,000ks on the clock and is in beautiful condition. The only problem i have with it is that the stock tacho doesnt work. Could there be a reason for this. It lights up and all but just doesnt work.

ohh the car came with a hks TT and a HKS boost controller too.

There are 4 hair thin wires that controll your tach, and your speedo... if any of the four are not making good contact... nada on the tach.....

I Very carefully re-soldered mine, but you don't have much to play with, and I'd solder the ends where the wires are just wrapped around the posts.... try not to heat things up too much as you may melt the wires on the spindle together, and good night tach....

Sure, it's fairly easy to take out of the cluster.
