HELP! Need help identifying sensor ASAP! [Picture]

Hello,

I'm just in the process of finishing up some work for the night. I deattached a sensor, but one of the connectors is broken - I can't figure out which way it reconnects. I really need help on this - pictures of the sensor and its connector are below.

The sensor itself I believe connects to the engine block, it's a brass hexagonal fitting with a 2-wire mesh braided covering.

Your help identifying the sensor and the proper way to connect it would be very very helpful!

Thanks again.

Oil pressure IIRC though I don't remember there being a connection such as that.

It's not stock - it's probably an aftermarket temp sensor or pressure sensor for a gauge in the car. The car itself will run fine without it, but some gauge will not work .

What gauges and brands of gauges do you have? Looks like a Japanese sender.

Running Defi Water Temperature and Fuel pressure.

I'm assuming it's the water temperature gauge?

I would guess water temp. The sensor may be teed into the water line going to the throttle body.

It looks like part of the "key" for the plug is still there, so it should only plug in one way. In the second pic, the male plug is oriented upside-down to plug in. But, even if you plug it in the wrong way, it should still work fine - you just have to complete a circuit, I don't think polarity is that important.

Defi should sell replacement senders - may be a bit pricey, but it's the cost of doing business sometimes .
