Help Me Please!!

OK here is the problem and I would love to here as many answers as possiable.

I just bought a 1993 rx7 the front end was wreaked so we got it fixed and everything is together. the engine didn't get damaged in the crash and the engine just got rebuilt and only had around 200 km on it. so anyways now I get it running and everything, but it is back firing when ever the rev's get to high. Hopefully it just needs a tune up but all possiblities are more then welcome. thanks inadvance

If the exhaust has been modified and you get backfires when you let up off the accelerator then you're fine. That's fairly common. If you get backfiring at high rpm's with your foot still on the accelerator, I would suggest installing new spark plugs and new spark plug wires.

Yeah, actually, just about any modification to the exhaust system yields backfire.

I second the notion for new plugs+wires. It will make it run much better and get rid of the high RPM breakup. Do a search on sparkplugs in this forum to find the best plug for you.

totally normal, especially if you got a exhuast system (straight pipe type; dp, mp and catback)

BTW: how come so many newbies in here??? Anyone notice how many there are lately?
