Help Me Pick out a 7

I dont currently own a Rx7, but Ive wanted one for a while. Im lookn for one to build as a project car for my site (www.ECStreetracing.com) but IM not exactly sure what I wanna get. I ruled out the FC, great cars but there isnt a better looking car on the road then FD with a Cwest Kit and Cwest Wing and Lights. I know I want a manual of course, but Im not exactly sure what all the trim levels entail...like touring and R1...if someone could break it all down for me...

Also when I search for cars on autotrader and such I find a bunch of 93's that are in my price range or closer to it...but friends and locals tell me I really dont want a 93 and that the 94 is SOO MUCH BETTER...could you guys shed some light on this for me..tell me what really changed from 93-94 and maybe ease some fears of mine...Ive been into imports for quite a while..I mainly play with Honda B series, Nissan SR's and toyota motors but Im ready for something new, and what better then a wankle....Im gonna be posting a lot of "idiot" questions the next few monthes...but I appreciate everyone who helps me out...
So if you could tell me the difference between the 93's and the 94's I'd appreciate it..and if the 93 really is a bad idea let me know, and let me know why...

Thanks in ADvance

Don't worry about posting "idoit" questions. You might want to do a search (upper right corner) b4 asking some questions. But we really don't mind (gives me something to do at work).

Anyway, in 94 you get the passenger side airbag. Also they fixed a lot of little problems that the 93 had. Furthermore I believe that in 95 they fixed some of the problems with the 94. I have a 94 and I really don't have that many problems.

The difference btw. the touring and r1,r2 package is that the touring has more luxuries (ie. cruise control, fog lights, leather seats, etc.). Also the touring only have 1 oil cooler. The r1, r2 have stiffer suspension, less luxuries, and 2 oil coolers. That is pretty much it, I think.

Also, when looking to buy a FD take into account what reliablity mods need to be done. There is about $1.5k in reliabilty mods that NEED to be done.

1. downpipe (eliminate the pre-cat making turbos last longer, drop in under hood temps, and up hp by about 10hp)
2. boost guage (u need to know what you are boosting at)
3. aluminum radiator (stock end tanks crack and cause a pain in the a$$)
4. aluminum AST (the stock air seperation tank is plastic and has a tendency to crack)

There has to be something else...I just cann't think right now sorry
