Just in case you suspect that the no fuel was due to old gas turning into varnish and gumming everything up......bring with you a small fluid transfer pump. The type you get at the auto part store. It comes with inlet tubing and outlet tubing and some adapters fittings. Use the pump at the fuel lines by the intake elbow and pull vacuum on the supply lines to get fuel thru the pump and filter. Then try to crank the engine over or see if your fuel pump start to work.

A couple of years ago, I had to start a car up for a friend of mine. The car had been sitting for 20-30 years with fuel in the tank. The fuel system was all gummed up, I used one of these hand pump at the fuel filter by the carb. and slowly pulled fuel through the line. When the fuel first started to come out, it was like gum and tar but when it finally thinned out (a couple of gallons of fresh gas in the tank) and I connected everything back, the car started.

So who knows, it is worth a shot if you suspect that the lines are gummed up or maybe the fuel pump is all gummed up. Just by moving fuel through the lines might help you get things moving. Just remember if you do get it started, you just lost some of your negotiating power on the price of the car and you did all the work.

Update:

I got the car secured and will be moving it down here to storage soon. Did not get it running, never got back to work on the fuel system but the engine is not getting fuel.

I've got tons of research and reading to do, but I'm looking forward to getting the car up and running.
