i just had one problem with the car (2 days old) , i was going about 30 and i put it in 3rd gear and floored it, but i never felt the turbo's come on and the car started to idel realy weird. is that just a lose vacume line or is it a serious problem?

Hi zooq and welcome.. give us all a day to get your specs ironed out.
So what did you get? Year, model, mileage, maint. history, etc. etc. You sell your Celica (per yer profile)?

Fyi 30mph in 3rd is not in primary boost range(2500rpm), nor do cars "idle" at that rpm. Please say yer legit or you might be branded a forum troll, ok guy? 30mph in 3rd is ineffective for any level of manual-shift driving experience. We're here to enjoy/pimp the rotary, not baby-sit trolls lately. I hope you understand why we are so touchy.

Congrats on your purchase. Best to get a boost gauge installed asap so you can tell whats going on.

yes i traded my celica for this RX7. can you tell me if it's an R1? it has a black lip and a wing, does that make it an R1?
i read somewhere that to check if the turbo's are fine i should put it in 3rd at about 30 and see if i can feel the boost and then feel the second turbo come on.
i'm having a hard time keeping the car running , the RPMs would drop down to 300 sometimes and then die.
please help

ok here is the deal
NO BOOST, i was going about 30 and i shifted to 3rd (read the reason in my previos post) and i floored it, i stayed on the gas for more than 5 seconds and the car was't going anywhere. so i thought it was because of the high gear. then i dropped it to 2nd and flored it and i no boost. is it just a vacume line or something?

hmmm... you hear any vacuum leak or hissing? Continue this tomorrow, ok? The techies here will most definitley help you out. Step 1: Get the boost guage and a A-pillar mounting pod that Mazda conveniently left out. :p Can you PM me yer VIN number also?

change your spark plugs and wires. That ["bad idles"] happened to me when I had bad spark plugs.

check if vacume hoses is lose.
check that thing under the wastegate that turns the turbos on. That happened to me once before because the washer came off.

Oh ok. Anyway, seeing as your old car was a FWD, I think you need to learn how to drive a RWD TT before worrying about the boost problems.

all of my cars in the past were FWD. so RWD is new to me. BTW, i forgot to mention that i have a 90 civic with a JDM 1.6 motor and a Greddy TD04 turbo kit. i'm going to take both cars to the track this weekend. hopefully i'll run a mid/low 14 in my 7 and a high 13 in my civic. i live at 3200ft above sea level.

I don't think taking your brand new car that is obviously having problems to the track is a good idea. Check the MAP sensor. This is a small box supported off the firewall right by the inlet elbow. Make sure that all the hoses are connected to it. Also check to make sure the other end of the hose connected to the MAP sensor is connected. Also, try resetting your ECU. To do this: remove neg batt cable, push brake pedal to floor for 30 seconds, hook batt cable back up. Start car and hopefully problem is gone.

Good luck.

bad idle no boost

Check your boost sensor vacuum hose up high on the driver side fire wall.
