help I think I am experiencing fuel cut

I am experiencing a brick wall which I think is fuel cut. I cannot get it at WOT without it bogging down. I checked the wastegate acuator and the turbo pre-control and they seem good. The wastegate holds vacuum but the pre-controller does not. I checked just the pre control disconnected from everything and it holds pressure and I shot air and it moves. There is a vacuum leak in the vacuum rack. I checked the hoses going to the pre-control soleniod and they seem fine. I don't know anyother routings of it to check. I am still not sure if it is really fuel cut. I hooked up a boost gauge and it hits 8 psi then cuts out. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dustin

HAHA, classic man cause i get a fuel cut too. The only difference is that I know it's because I need to upgrade my fuel pump and fuel injectors but am too lazy to do it so I live with my boost cut on purpose. I bet you are having a similar problem.

if you have a completely stock ecu you can only run 10 psi, turn the boost to ten or below and it will take care of it

my only problem is that everything on my car is completely stock. I am having an overboost issue. Believe me it is not that I am trying to get more just keep everything stock.

that sounds strange but i would try clearing the computer in case it has stored any codes,do this by disconnecting the battery for at least 20 sec and pressing on the break pedal several times (the brake pedal part may be a wise tale but i always do it)then rehook the battery and go for a ride

i doubt it , if you are in fact hitting fuel cut and you are sure your only running 8psi then the prob is more likely to be found elsewhere(i.e. a stored code, etc),keep me posted u have me curious you can also call, # is under my "location" icon, my name is chad

Dustin it may not be fuel cut at all. You may be flooding the engone. Check your MAP sensor. If you arnt sure what that is do a quick search.

Dustin this might be a long shot but do you have an aftermarket alarm. Say a clifford alarm?

Well rx that's true, I have to also upgrade my ecu . In any case, I'm running no higher than 10 psi and I get a fuel cut @ WOT @ 6500 rpm's. It really sucks, but I know for a fact it's because my single ain't getting enough juice (fuel) to run her at higher rpm's. Hence the fact I need to upgrade the fuel pump and injectors. Please enlighten me rx as to why fixing those two will not fix my problem since according to SP Engineering it will?

What does the aftermarket alarm have to do with the boost pattern/fuel cut ?

I had major problems with mine and I have heard other stories of people's aftermarket alarm hurting the car. Sometimes I would hit fuel cut at like3.5k rpm's(and it only happened while the alarm was in thew car). Really REALLY weird.

fuel cut does not come on because you dont have enough fuel, it comes on when you have to much boost, it also comes on whe various codes are stored in the ecu and a lack of fuel im sorry is not one of them. a lack of fuel would be why you would upgrade these parts of the fuel system. also just because your boost gauge says 10 that doesnt always mean it is exactly 10 it could be 10.5 etc. this is especially true with auto meter type guages(mid to low grade guages) .5 is just enough to cause fuel cut. try adjusting the boost down just a hair and im quite sure it'll fix it. i hate to say that another shop is wrong but if thats the story they told you then im going to be boldand say "there wrong!" keep me posted on the outcome and if you need anymore help you like everybody else are welcome to call i hope you try this because i think you can fix your car on your own for free.good luck

how do u know its fuel cut, does the car just stop pulling and stays at the same rpm? or does it feel more like u completely let go of the accelerator?
