Question help with hood release cable

My hood release cable is cashed. I got a good used one I'm going to instal, but to be quite honest, I have NO clue how to do this. Is this a simple job or am I looking at some hard work? Any step by step instructions?

Thanks!

it's a fairly easy job! however time consuming and the hardest part is managing to fit and work under the steering area. Everything you'll have to do in the engine bay is easy and quick.
disassemble the latch so you can take the ball out of there. I have to admit there are a few clips holding the cable which are a true pain in the *** to get out, after that pull from the inside of the car and i guess you know what to do with the new cable : )

Yeah, thanks for the input.

I managed to figure it out. I removed the bottom plastic cover, unbolted the 2 10mm bolts holding on the release handle. Then, I removed the front bumper cover, unbolted the latch, removed the old cable from the latch, pulled the cable free of the front end, then removed the plastic clip holding the cable in place in the bay. Once the cable was completely free, I pulled it from the interior all the way out.

I'm suprised it was faily easy; I had a rough idea how to do this, but was just looking for some input on a simplified way. However, I don't think there is.

I got the new cable in, and connected to the latch. Now my problem is that the hood doens't shut correctly. I suppose I'll have to adjust the latch now.

That should be an easy adjustment of the latch. Just did this myself and now the hood sits properly. Not enough pressure and the hood rides too high. Too much and the hood bulges on the sides and/or is difficult to open.

Yeah, I messed with it last night for a couple hours... still isn't correct.

Come over and fix mine.
