Help first real problem!!

I got up this morning went outside to start her up and she wouldnt turn over. Its almost like when you dont push the clutch in, everything comes on but it doesnt do anything. Normally I would here at least a clicking before the engine turned but today nothing. I drove the car yesterday and everything seemed fine. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If you turn the key and nothing happens--not even a loud "click" from under the car, and if you have properly checked the battery and cables, you may not be getting power to the solenoid. Here is how that circuit works--at least on a 1st generation car. Later models are probably similar in concept, but I have not researched it.

Got this off of Lightning in a world of thunder site. I guess this is my problem. A friend of mine told me to try and knock on the starter solenoid with the wooden end of a hammer he said it can lock up. Also to check the fuses. Now my question is if it has gone bad how much is this to replace and how hard is it to replace. Also there was allot more to this But I wasnt going to post all of it.

I agree.

I've had a battery that was too dead to start the car, however enough power to make the interior lights come on...

However, if the starter is the problem, it's very easy to replace. It's underneath the car on the driver's side held on by two bolts.

The battery shouldnt be dead unless I have a drain that I dont know about. I will go ahead and check it. I wouldnt think it would be so dead as to not at least make the clicking noise. I also have a Optima thats pretty new and has been relocated. How much do the starters run? Thats what I am scared to here.
