Help Electrical Gremlin.....attack...!

Here is what I did, installed front mount i.c. replaced battery with 51R and installed a OEM cd player which did not work yet. Since the 7 had not started since last winter. With new battery, she starts right up, but:

When AC turn on, fans mod on or headlight on. The car dies... and now my ABS light is on. I have not take her out for a run since I don't wanna get stranded.

My visual inspection could not tell any wire was cut or spliced... What could it be? Everything was working prior the mods in last winter.

I checked all the fueses and pulled the harness out from the ECU. And all the plugs are pluged back in...what could it could? I put all these mods in and no where to go...

well this sounds like a problem i had before my entire eletrical system failed, what happened was that my neg ground (the stock system was dying/dead). What happened in my case was the car could start fine and battery/alternator was good and all the fuses and relyas were good (god having 2 fd's is good for trouble shooting stuff like this, i would have probally spend over 2000 bucks buy all the different things which could have been wrong like, coils/ignitor, all the relays, ect). In anycase, when ever i hit my brakes (lights), headlights, anything eletrical, the car would die out. I just put a 2 gauge wire to ground the batter and other engine parts to the body and the problem dissapeared. (has been running like a champ for about a year now! woot)

BTW: Where is the cheapest place to get 2 gauge 0 node wire you ask... Home depot of course (I **** you not man!!! 2 gauge wire is 2 gauge wire if you buy it from the most expensive places or from homedepot)

Thanks, I am gonna try that, I thought my 51R does not have enough juice at first.
Beside running ground from neg. terminal of battery to body. What are other good places to solve your problem.

What did you do that lead to the electrical problem. Since I have never had this issue from owning 2 fds. Although I have not add the ground but I am leaning toward pinched wire somewhere since I had to loosen the main wire harness under the front frame rail but can't see anything pinced. I also installed the cd player but it is not working yetsince I jammed it in. I think I am gonna try there first before yanking the bumper out again. Any other tips... beside the grounds.

That sounds like mine. I had no problem prior last winter. Then after all the mods put it. I almost **** my pants when that happens...all that works.
Well, I am gonna ground the heck out of it in the next couple days.
Keeping my fingers crossed...Thanks man, I hope that is it.

Well, after talking to Dave at Kdrotary, I have found the screw up. Skunks you are right about the ground. I actually did not ground the two white plastic ground that used to sit on the bumper reenforcement which I switch to the hood latch and apparently not enough ground. Well, I am one happy camper now.
