Help with ECU code 17

My CEL came on so I checked the code and got a code 17. I know it is the feedback system but don't know exactly what the feedback system does. Any help on where to start would be appreciated.

Check your O2 sensor and the wiring to it.

17 Feedback system for O2 sensor as can be checked here. Have you replaced the o2 sensor lately?
