Help- Car hesitation
Thanks for reading-
I had a car fire back in Feb with my 93 rx7 touring. (no mods) After 7k and 3 months I finally got my car back. Then 3-4 days later the car began hesitation. For instance the car wouldn't go over 100mph. Also sometimes when you put your foot down on the accelerator, the car would lack any power and take 2-3-4-5 seconds before it would accelerate. It seems to idle ok, although rough idle. But it always idled rough (before the fire).
Can you offer any suggestions on what could be the problem? A local shop had the car for a week or so but couldn't find the problem. Then the dealer had the car and ran a compression test on it. They said the compression was fine. Spark plugs are new so thats not the problem. The dealer said that they'd have to spend many hrs going thru the vacuum lines, exhaust etc just to TRY to identify the problem.
Any advise or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Is the car still 100% stock? If so, your pre-cat is probably clogged, which may also have taken out your main cat.
Do you have a boost gauge? If so, what are your readings? If not, get one. If you don't want to install one in your interior, get a cheap mechanical one and get a piece of vacuum line long enough to run it from your intake manifold to the interior of your car. You can at least trouble shoot boost issues this way.
