im having trouble getting my engine and transmission taken apart. i was wondering if anyone knew how to disconect these two because i got a new engine and tranny but i cant get the car running till i get this crap out thanks.
You have to take loose the pressure plate from the flywheel or take loose the throwout bearing from the pressure plate. I find it's easier to just un-bolt the pressure plate from the flywheel though. Remove the little inspection cover at the bottom and rotate the engine (by hand) and take off the 6 (I believe) nuts that hold the pressure plate to the flywheel. You'll have to rotate the engine slowly to get to them all. Once that's done the engine and tranny will seperate.

This seems to be the most complicated part of the engine removal and reinstall. We also got stuck on this part for a long while. It's a bitch to seperate and the inspection plate is a joke as far as being accessible.
BTW you don't need to seperate the motor and trans to get it out of the car or put it back in. 1 piece baby
