Help... AEM UEGO install question
i just purchased the AEM UEGO kit and I was wondering if those who have it just replaced the stock O2 sensor, or if they retained the stocker and placed the bosch sensor a little further down the midpipe. I was curious if removing the stock sensor and not having anything sending a signal to the pwer fc would be a problem. Any help??
Not a complete answer to your questions, but..... You can remove the stock sensor and disable the O2 feedback in the PFC. The PFC works just fine without the O2 sensor. I would think that you would want the WB sensor a little farther downstream so as to not get it too hot though. The most common place does seem to be just ahead of the mid-pipe, high-flow cat or whatever you are running.

I replaced my OEM sender. In hind sight I may have added a port on my DP just in front of the exhaust pipe flange but the DP was in place and was such a PITA to bolt on that I didn't want to remove it. However, I have not yet killed my wideband sensor in this stock location.
The PFC does not need a signal from either the UEGO or OEM sensor, best to set it to non feedback mode anyways. I first tried feeding the anolog 0-1 volt signal to the PFC in feedback mode but to no benefit. Someday I will feed it to my datalog for recording purposes, but for now it has just become a high dollar AF gauge feeding its signal to a greddy turbo timer.

AEM's instructions tell you how drastically you shorten the life of the O2 sensor if you place it close to the exhaust manifold. You can take your chances but, I mounted mine in the midpipe, exactly the recommended 36" min. downstream from the turbos.
