Heater/Air Cond. blower stopped working. The fix is...

The insanely placed relay that is used to keep the blower from running when the car is turned off. I went to get a little A/C to cool off the interior, and NO FAN!! So I pulled up the wiring, and started tracing wires. At connector G-07, I was getting strange readings from the wire that runs to the heater (red), so I traced further. After pulling the glovebox, up toward the top of the heater system stack, a little relay lives it's quiet life. It's right next to the dash support bar. Anyway, I pulled the relay, put it on a convienient variable power supply, and gave it juice across the coil connections. It clicked nicely. Hmmm... So then I placed a multimeter with the convenient beeping function across the switched leads and hit it with juice. Nothing. Ahhh...

So I jumpered the switched connections, and viola, I have a blower. It even blows with the ignition off. Coooouuuuuld be a problem. Anyway, I ordered the relay this morning (Malloy for $27 or so) and will be back up to speed in no time, with limp along jumper in the short term. Just wanted to share in case anyone else runs across this problem as well...
