Heat problem?

Hey i was just test driving a fd today and a little light came up saying "Heat" and the owner said it could be because of the new pipe he put in its the one that comes right after the exhaust and also it had a oil leak. Plus it would shake if you took your foot off the pedal or put it back on but thats because the is messed up. He is selling it for $14,500 its a 1995 efini bathurst type-r worth it or not? has 13k miles and needs new paint.

Uhh...I highly doubt that its a bathurst in the us...Sounds like a terrible deal. There are plenty of UNMOLESTED fd's out there. Check the classified section of the forum.

You will highly benefit from reading the FAQ section of this forum before you buy.

I would question the 13K mileage.

First, I thought you already bought one?

Next, these cars are known for oil leaks. They occur fairly regularly but sometimes can be fairly costly to fix depending on the origin of the leak. The only way to know is to have someone who knows these cars inspect it before you buy it.

I would suggest you find someone local to look at these cars with you who has a good understanding of the issues these cars can have....

The heat light is may be the temp sensor under the passenger floor area for the over heat exhaust. If it has the stock cats the exhaust can get extra hot and will illuminate an "overheat exhaust light" Its mounted in the center console area.
