Headlight short?

About a month locally there was an FD that had some kind of electrical short going on with it. The raise/lower headlight button would work to raise the headlights and lower them when you pressed it again. The fog lights would come on. However when the headlights were down and you used the headlight stalk to turn on the fogs, then another click to raise the headlights/turn them on nothing would happen. You can push the raise/lower button to make them raise then turn on the brights though.

Well.... That just happened to my car the other night. Shortly there after the headlight switch started working again. Tonight once again the headlights would not come up/on without pressing the raise button and then using my brights to be able to see.

Is this perhaps another common FD issue? I hate tracking electrical shorts and would love to hear of a common problem area that I could concentrate on instead of following the wires from switch to headlight.

Thanks!

ok, I found out what it was.

On the drivers side the headlight relay had went out. Its a green relay(once you remove the protective rubber stuff)

I verified by putting a fan relay which also happens to be a 20A into its place and the headlights move up and down.

Thought Id update this for anyone that might be doing a search in the future.
