I had water in my headlamp relay once, and it caused all sorts of wierd things to happen. I dried it out and shot some electrical cleaner in there and haven't had anything strange happen since.

 

some people have to move their headlamp relay when fitting aftermarket stuff, this causes all kinds of problems as often it fills with water - you get disco headlamps (one on one off alternating) lamsp with a mind of their own all sorts.

check the relay!
