This might sounds crazy but I don't care about gas mileage, that's not why I bought an rx7. I just like driving it.

Not sure this is of any use, but for one data point, here is an Excel chart of all the fill-ups for our '94 bought new. Car is pretty much stock. Lots of variation due to trips vs. in-town driving, which is mostly how this car is used today. Always run on CA 91 octane gasoline, driven only on the street; not sure when the 10% Ethanol was put into CA gas. Car was/is well-maintained.

The chart looks a lot like the DOW these days...

Although i do wonder how much MPG my FD makes just for a vague outlook on health but really, i dont care about mileage.

I mean i do care of how much mileage i actually put but making approx 23 highway, i think thats not bad.

if you thought your FD was a gas guzzler...

Yep. See attachment, car & driver road test data from a Chevy C6 ZO6, Ferrari F430, and Porsche 911 Turbo. If you thought your FD was a gas guzzler, check out the Ferarri!!! EPA city/hwy = 11/16 mpg. Note the C/D 500 mile trip numbers, around 10+mpg. Something tells me they were ON it the whole time they had the cars

We're the equivalent of over $8 a gallon here at the mo - stop complaining and relish it!

You have a car with an amazing individual engine, that is capable of shedloads. It's not cheap to run or buy parts for. If that's an issue, you shouldn't really be trying to run it. If it's not, then stop thinking about it, get out there, and hit the backroads.

I think we are like $10 per gallon here in Turkey. I don't mind spending $$$ on petrol when I'm going for fun drives but what annoys me is the compulsory run around from one workshop to another to get stuff done to the car in which I'm sweaty, frusturated and tired and on top paying $$$ for petrol.

I got an 94 fd3s single turbo...

gt35r single turbo @12 PSI
PFC
4x850cc injectors with cjm assembly with single Bosch 044 fuel pump and 6an fuel lines
FMIC
water-injection
AFR wideband...+more

and one good dyno tune
i get 30+ mpg

i do not go pas 3000rpm in any gear when i am trying to save on gas...area where i stay is mustily felt so i do not got much uphill driving....

i monitor my wide band and my car has a lean sweet spot when i am cruising around
35-40 and 60-65 mph under vacuum... around 16-19 afr as long as i stay at that on the highway i get awesome gas mileage as unbelievable as it sounds this car is my daily driver for summer...and i am surprised as the next guy i usually use to fill it ever 3days when it was stock , now i manga 1.5 to 2 weeks on one gas tank...

i think this is largely do to my tune ,wideband and single turbo..

and i run 255 /40/ 17 tire all around i think i could manage better gas mileage with smaller tires and hydrogen fill...but i am really happy with this...

i know allot of people say get a civic for you DD...do not put mileage on your 7...i am proud of all 100000 miles on my car ... rx7 is divers car and the more i drive it the happier i am...i relay cant stand people that drive there car once a year i think they should just sell it to some one that will enjoy it...
