Hatch Shocks

When I pull my hatch release lever, it unlocks the hatch, but it doesn't pop up at all. I still have to squeeze my fingers into the crack to pry it up. I've been told that I just need new hatch support shocks. Is this correct, or is there some kind of spring I need to replace or what?

Just replace them with new ones. You can get them at most parts stores. And most people think the spoiler isn't functional, ha.

I've got the same issue, but I think it's because my spoiler is so huge that it weighs the shocks down anyway. Sad thing is, I think I'm starting to grow attached to it.

I have the same problem, w/o a spoiler. I wonder how cheap they run. If it isnt too bad I wouldnt mind getting a new one. Maybe from a totaled car you will get a better deal.
