Has Anyone Repaired a Stock FD PCME?

Just read an old forum article about bad electrolytic capacitors in the FD's odometer circuit; Mazda also used some caps which leaked in both the Miata ECU and airbag system Diagnostic Module. I was wondering if such failures have happened to the FD's stock PCME and been documented here. I tried searching using several terms, but came up empty. Any links, anyone?

I bought a spare ECU once thinking that maybe a bad cap might be related to the 3k hesitation problem.

I took it apart (not hard) but I only found a couple of tht caps that I could have replaced and there was no visible problem with them. Then I haven't picked it up since and it's all sitting in a box somewhere.

I had an ECU with a bad resistor. It wouldn't have been hard to swap the resistor, but with the price of used ECUs it much easier to just buy one here on the forum and save the headache.

check for optical damage first(like something melt). if you cant see anything take it to an electronics store to have it repaired unless you can use a multimeter and you are capable to solder etc
