I have one on the way from Mazdatrix. It looks pretty straight forward, as it just simply slips on. However, I was curious if any type of adhesive has to be used as well?

I've done it. No adhesive. Just take the old one off - you'll see that there's no glue.

I changed mine at it was worn and causing the roof panel to move around and squeak. There was no adhesive. Just be careful because the metal clips that hold the headliner around the sunroof opening are razor sharp and can cause a nasty cut.
