Ok guys im piecing a car back together for a guy, he bought it as a roller and we are doing a motorswap in it, well I pretty much have the swap done the engine runs, but we have an issue, there are problems with his wiring in the car as far as the chassis harness is concerned, he bought the car as a roller and it had had some parts removed so i have these plugs here under the drivers side of the dash i have no idea what they are for, my cluster is not working at all and the headlights are not popping up, the hazards dont work, the sunroof does not work either, im thinking he is missing part of the chassis harness or somthing but im not sure. Here is a pic of the three plugs also there is a module pictured with two connectors need to go to it. LOL help me out guys i know you know this ****. Im feeling like we are missing a harness or some kind of interior pigtail.

 

does the car have a cpu in it. i would check for that if thats not it i would start checking fuses. when my sunroof didnt open it was just a fuse. other than that the most i could do is check my car later and let you know.

I have a spare working 5 speed ECU from a 93 if you guys need it quick.. im in indianapolis and 45$ shipped is all I ask.

 

this may be a stupid question, but are the connectors plugged into the back of the tach and everything Along with the hazards and heater connections? Otherwise just take a look at the wiring diagram and see what those need to be plugged into.

 

It has nothing to do with his ecu. That is ENGINE control unit. it controls the engine not the lights. If it was something it would be the CPU or another computer. But seeing as his connectors are hanging there it appears they just need plugged in somewhere.

 

well we dont need an ecu, we have the ecu in the car haha, but i just want to know what we are missing we have got to be missing somthing.

these 3 connectors again are on the drivers side kick panel area that are pictured, they are routed right by the hood release cable.

and the module i think is like bcm or an air bag module or somthing but i i think we need to have this plugged in to get everything to work but i dont know where the plugs are for it that go to it haha, im really thinking we are missing a harness or somthing anyone?

 

yes the tach and speedo, hazards all that stuff is plugged in the gauge cluster and all that stuff is in the car.

these plugs are right along the drivers side they couldnt reach up that high

 

Looks like X-06 and X-15 connectors. They are blue. Look up high under the driver side dash edge, right above the hood latch. There are two female connectors hidden back in there ( stacked one atop the other ). See if that isn't them. If they are disconnected, things like Hazards, oil level switch, coolant level switch, brake fluid level, fuel tank level, tach, speedometer, etc will NOT work.

Check that and report back on the other connector.

Also your pics suck. And for future troubleshooting - ALWAYS give the four connector wires color code ( example Black/red ) on each end of the offending connector in the post. This helps ZERO in on the proper connector fast !

The other Green one looks like JB-02 or JB-03. Both are green connectors and they BOTH connector to the FRONT of the fuse box that you have in the picture. And although your pictures SUCK ( did I already mention that ) it appears that a connector is not plugged in on the box in one of the pics.


So - check and report back

yea!!! your exactly right about the green connector i just was at the shop a little bit ago and plugged that one is and was coming back to report about it, now that ive seen your posts im gonna look for those blue ones, i will definently get the wire colors, i have all data and i will see if i can match em up, i will report back either way, yeah my pics do suck haha sorry.

but the green one is in and i just have the two blues left

those were the connectors i <3 u lol

they were hidden up there pretty good.

what about that module? its the module thats on the tranny tunnel area on the drivers side under the dash

Now, where were we....oh yes.


The module you are referring to is the Air Bag diagnostic module. It resides up under the dash in the area of the accelerator pedal. Held in by three screws and two connectors attach to it.


I cannot understand some of the lingo you use there in your posts, (i <3 u lol) I am sorry. I understand old english....such as what I use here.
