So i just acquired 2 hallman mbc to address my boost spiking following this thread by Damian..

But i had a quick question before i tackled the install and hope you guys can help. And forgive me if im being a complete noob by asking this, but... Is it possible to set the boost controller to a specific setting/pressure (i.e. 10 psi) with a mityvac before plumbing it to the wg and pre control lines? Im only asking because i live on some back roads and i fear its gonna be a pita if i have to drive to the nearest long straight to do a 3rd gear pull and then come back and tweak it, and then again, and again...
Im just looking to make it a little quicker if possible so what do you think?

Are they not remote adjustable? You should be able to mount them in such a way that you can adjust them while you're on said road. Near the relays, likely.

In any case, yes you can set them with a mity vac. It may be difficult because all manual controllers leak pressure to some extent.

 

That's the problem with manual boost controllers. You will have to drive, pop the hood, adjust, repeat. There's no real good way to pre-set it. Best to have them located so you can easily adjust them with a simple hood pop and not have to take a bunch of stuff apart.

I think Hallman also sells a cable that extends the adjustment ****.

Or, electronic boost controller, do everything in the cockpit .

I didnt get the cockpit cable from Hallman as i thought it was a little overkill for something i was going to set once and leave it you know. Plus i like to keep my cabin clean and as close to stock as possible.. But i just installed them today and install was a breeze, and i did put them right by the relays so i should be alright adjusting it on the road. I also adjusted the controllers before installing them like damian suggested on his write-up (instead of my previous mityvac idea) and its pretty darn close as it is, so a couple of tweaks is all it'll take im thinking.
