Half bridge port, who has one?

Higher idle, I don't mind. Shorter lifespan, I'm really curious to see just how much shorter...cuz that depends really. Harder to tune, not really a problem since Steve Khan would be doing the porting & tuning, and he seems very comfortable w/ it. It's not like bridgeported engines are more likely to detonate or something...it's just greater wear and tear, right? Cuz so far so good...

Yeah I haven't really seen 1 Bad word about 1/2 bridge ported motors. I'm with u FDNewbie all that stuff that i listed as "bad" really isn't and doesn't bother me at all.
Once I start the rebuild I'll take a bunch of pics and post them.
Then I'll get a little vid once it is running :P
The hardest choice for me right now is what apex seals I want to go with.....

I think the reason why people were against it was because there're no way to pass emission with the 1/2 bridge. I think that discouraged alot of people.

So I guess I'm still trying to figure out why most people do NOT go w/ bridgeports...there's gotta be some downsides to it, right? (bad gas mileage is a hallmark of the FD, so is an erratic idle, so ignore those). Also, are there any other benefits?

Wow...this is crazy lol. Either you guys are holding out on me, or this seems like the PERFECT way to go! I got another question tho...you guys said the stock twins dont flow enough to match a half bridgeport. So, how about upgraded twins, say the BNR stage IIIs? Would it be farfetched to be breaking 450 hp w/ a setup like that?

I've got a good one for you Steve, wtf is a bridge port. Please explain the difference between an agressive street port and a bridge. I herd somewhere you have to do something with the apex seals with a bridge, is that true?
BTW, I am also getting very interested in this half bridge. Im not looking for 400 hp, 330 at the wheels would be just fine. I am more interested in the sound coming out of Brians tail pipe. Sounds awesome. Is there anyother reason why you would'nt want to run the stock turbos other than you cant run over 15psi?
What kind of power would I expect with a half bridge, front mount, ign amp, pfc, and all the rest of the goodies @ say 14psi?

LOL....PLZ dont tell me you want a bridgeport just cuz it sounds cool! hahaha
The brub brub brub is very attractive though. Like a cam'ed LS6, yumm. I would'nt even consider this option normally but I only drive the seven on weekends now. I figure its time to make it a monster.
