Ok, Im looking at the shop manual now, at page K246.

Anyway as I was reading through, I saw on that page it says
Circuit
1n and 1p says D, S locked 3rd gear
L Locked in 2nd.
question is, waht is an open circuit and how to you find 1n and 1p?

What ARE you talking about? I imagine those numbers and letters refer to harness locations. In a nutshell, I think it means that when the gear selector is in L the car will not shift past 2nd, and when the gear selector is in S the car will not shift past 3rd.
