Hey guys, been digging around looking for an fd and found this on autotrader, but when I look through your classifieds I see really nice ones going for low 20's/high teens (some with much more power - but not so body kitted). Just wondering if there's something super special to warrant the relatively large price tag.

Phew, that's salty for a 68k car, even for being really really clean. But it is fitted up with genuine Mazda 99 spec parts and stuff that are easily worth several grand. If you bought the car and sold off just the wheels you could probably net $2500 after buying a really clean set of stock wheels. Of course it's not an actual 99 spec or spirit R, it's just been fitted with 99 spec and spirit R parts. The $29k asking price might be lower than the sum total of the car + fancy jspec parts, but it's hard to say without really squinting at the pics.
I would not recommend to buy it unless I had a very specific idea of what I wanted in an FD and that idea was very close to this car.
IMHO, it's one of the 'best' modded FDs in the US. But that's all based on my opinion, and I'm biased toward OEM stuff and mildly modded FDs. This car seems like it will be sold to a serious FD enthusiast, to be kept similar to it's current condition, not driven daily, and kept in it's very good condition. Or maybe I just fantasize that will happen.
In any case, it would be a shame to me to see someone buy this and put serious wear on it. If you want an FD for heavy modding or more daily use, I would buy a lower mileage and without all the expensive and pretty j-spec parts.

Funny you say that as I'm looking for a garage queen to stare at in the long Ohio winters and use the (much loved) svx as a year-round daily. My wishlist has become pretty broad ranging from a '69 camaro to a car like this.

the car is very nice, but 29k is a lot of money for it. I would say 25k would be a more fair price... But then again what is another 4k for a car that really isnt gonna lose much value, if any...
Clean, but alot of money for a car with mainly cosmetics and still on stock turbos. You could easily build one up for less cost. Can't really tell how good the paint is from the pictures either.
