Guaging Interest: Fiberglass Duct or Others

I am currently half way done with fabricated my fiberglass duct for the XS Power I/C. Once I am done with it or get it lookin like a duct I will post pics to see if anyone would want a fiberglass version instead of a aluminum one. The duct could also be used for other SMIC. I am planning on selling these for $100 plus shipping which should be somewhere around $10 to $20. There will be no rushing on progress so every duct will be as professional as possible.

Also, I am wanting input on what people would like to have in fiberglass. Such as heatshields, easily broken plastic oem parts, and anything else. Just let me know and I'll try my hardest to do so.

If you are wanting ducts for other specific I/C's I wouldnt be able to do so unless you sent me dimensions and such.

Thanks
Derek

Good eye Derek...Good to see someone else making these in demand parts for the Rx7 community. You bring a positive to the Rotary table my friend.

Here's an idea for you - glass up a dual/single gauge pod for the center AC vent on the dash ( for those who have removed their AC for whatever reason )

Like the one below that I made.

Why? Just to get rid of the grill? Alright. I'm just gonna keep all this things in mind and notify ya'll on the progress. I would need more interest of each individual project though.

Something like the brake ducting I did here might be of interest to forum members. This has worked extremely well for me - so well that I would recommend trying it prior to spending money on a BBK.

progress of the xs power duct. this is only 2 days of work. school prohibits me from workin on it on the weekdays so more pics will be up next monday. I am making it piece by piece. Right now the top and bottom pieces are complete and need to be fiberglassed together. I have to get it lined up, rivited, then glassed. Once I do that the sides can start being fabricated. Once I get it done I am going to make a larger inlet attachment. Pics were done off of my phone

Pics in order of:
1. Top pieces in car
2. Top pieces taped together
3. Bottom pieces taped together
4. The workplace (get a view of what I work with)
5. My baby

I am trying to make it as high quality as possible. If I can get about 5 people interested I will make these on a large scale. Say 10 every week. I'm trying to find some high temp. heat resistant paint to coat it with. Does anyone know of any? Ya like I said if 5 people tell me they want one of these then I am definately making them on a large scale. No bullshiting, fast production, fast shipping, professional grade, and daily updates on progress. So anyone else interested?

PS-Sorry Chuck for taking away business. Hey at least we are both in the Houston Rx-7 Club

Well I am going to complete this one. I mean completely done. Then post pics and get at least 5 people interested before a batch goes out. I should get done fabricating it by sunday night. The next weekend get it painted and all. But probably another whole week before a batch of 10 would be ready.

Ya, I was about to buy one from Chuck but the whole aluminum thing wasn't working for me. Plus I thought the design wasn't very good. So I am taking matters into my own hands. No offense Chuck. I am going to try my hardest to get alot of it done by Sunday night for you guys.
Thanks

Why paint it and not gel coat? Hard to tell what process you're using to make them, but the gel coat will give it that smooth finish.

ok then I will gel coat. I was going to gel coat and then paint but I guess it will be much easier just to gel coat.

If your going to make a mold off of the original one why not just use black gel-coat in the process and it won't need paint.
