guage needle adjustment?
This question isn't actually pertaining to RX's at all, but I figured since we have so many problems with our FD guages somebody here might know the answer. If this needs to be moved mods, my apologies. The MX-3 boards are pretty dead these days & Miata gauges seem to be pretty reliable, so I've turned to you guys. (as always, thanks in advance)
I recently revived my MX-3 after it'd been sitting for a few years & the gas gauge had just completely ceased to function. After fiddling around in the tank it seems to be back in order, but consistently reads about 1/4 tank above what's actually in it. Generally speaking, (in regards to the typical gauge), does anybody know if I could simply pull the needle off the post, adjust upwards for the amount that it's off & replace? While tinkering with it the other day I couldn't figure out wtf was wrong with the engine now.. and then I had an epiphany, the gauge is lying/it's outta gas. (added a gallon & she fired right up/ran like a champ!)
