Grounding and Battery Relocation to Bin

I'm curious if those who have moved the battery into the rear bins have had any difficulty with grounding?

My headlights and dash lights dim at idle so I'm about to go through all of the main grounds in the car as well as check the alternator. I have a very short ground right now from the battery to an area I used a wire wheel on under the rear bins.

It may have nothing to do with the battery relocation at all as I have done a rebuild and single conversion as well. Most everything has been taken out of the car and put back in so I might just have a bad or missing ground somewhere.

Any tips on grounding are welcomed.

Right now I'm using the below as a guide which I found on the forum some time ago.

actually, you should check the voltage drop through the positive wire.

If you're wiring isn't thick enough, you'll loose voltage across the distance

This is the stuff I'm using. 0 gauge but nice and flexible. I'll take a pic of the grounding location and post back here.

0 gauge is overkill in most applications. Unless you are running crazy stereo, you shouldn't need it. 2 or 4 gauge is usually sufficient. The larger gauge makes it harder to route cleanly. For most battery relocations I like to use the extra bolt hole under the seat belt anchor behind the 1/4 panel trim.

Does it only happen at idle and what's the idle voltage? And what happen when you bring the RPM up?

I haven't touched the car in in a couple weeks, but its only an issue at idle or very low rpm speeds. 2000+ rpm and everything is great.

I still need to check the battery ground and read the voltage at idle.
