Gremlins in my TPS HELP!!

Gremlins are the bain of every shade tree mechanic and I guess I'm no more immune to them than the next person. Since replacing my engine this past week I've been experiencing the following problem.

My TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) isn't working, or so it would appear. It looks like it has received unkind treatment in the past and has sustained some "battle-damage" from less than caring techncian. Anyway, every cycle of the ignition key keeps generating a "Check Engine" Light. When I apply a jumper wire to the diagnostic bus between the ground and ten terminals and cycle the key on, the ECU reports errors for codes #12 & 18. This situtation is placing my engine into "Safe-Mode" which restricts boost to around 7PSI max and operates the primary injectors in "Rich" mode only. BTW I can also duplicate the same code by merely unpluging the harness plug from the TPS and cycling the key on.

Given that I only have 300 Miles approximately, on a new engine, this isn't an entirely bad situation.... for now! However, I would like to get this problem cleared soon for obvious reasons.

Anyone have any suggestions??
