Thumbs up Greddy Intake Elbow mod

Ok , after hours searching at Google and at the forum , without the positive results about finding any photo ,i decide to open this one to show my last mod , but i can't thanks enough to the help at rx7club Facebook group for the help and encourage me to do it .

Anyways , i found a restrictor on the Greddy Intake Elbow , that restrict flow and do not look right so i decide to take it off.

So i did (photos attached)

I notice a better capacity of the engine to breath and notable gain after 7000 rpms.

Will be nice to know if somebody else have done this mod and what are your experiences.

I think it's stepped down to 2 3/4" for the stock IC pipe size. If you go up you would need a reducer to go from the 2 3/4" pipe to 3".

This is an old school mod actually . I don't know how big of a difference it really makes, I think the size of the IC pipe in front of the elbow is the real factor there. But it's not hard to do.

Big thing is make sure you leave the lip on the opening so the coupler doesn't blow off or leak on you.

+1 it is set up so you can run the stock 70mm size, or go to 80mm

yes you are right , but the “original” transition inside the elbow was really abrupt.

Yes was tricky to find a silicone hose for doing the 70mm to 80mm

Anyways and when i messure it inside of the Greddy “adapter” it was reducing even more because the walls of the adapter was too tick

if you compare it on the photos you can see that the intercooler pipe has a bigger internal diameter than the adaptor , but cause the adaptor have a chanfler is very hard to know till you cut it out

Im also using bigger throttle bodies so…

probably the nect step will be go all the way to 80mm from outside the intercooler , but i dont know how “nessesary” will be

i tought the same till i messure it
the restrictor if I remember right was all the way down to 62mm
but was hard to messure it with a caliper cause it have a chanfler at the outside.
So when i cut it i notice that.
anyways i attached a photo showing that
so next guy that search on the forum or google it will take that step faster 😂
