Yeah I have mine installed now and wrote a really long post that was basically a review of everything with pictures but then I clicked to post it from my phone and I was logged out and the post was deleted and I got pissed off and didn't bother trying to re-write it.

I'll try it again later from my computer. There's a couple pics in my build thread right now if you're interested

Okay so I'll try writing down a review again. First thing you'll notice is that it's made mostly of metal. Second thing you'll notice is that metal is really really shiny. Seriously the finish is amazing. Obviously there's some tight corners that are trickier to polish but all in all the finish is sexy. Next the welds. Well the welds you can see are really nice looking. Not sure what else you'd expect from a bigger brand like greddy but I just thought I'd make a quick comment there.

So the kit itself now. The good thing about this kit is it allows you to keep anything you want and it is very very complete. They really thought everything out. Comes with all the brackets and pipes to relocate the ac and ps components as well as the fuse box on the front of the car and also the ast (gets relocated near the rear of the engine bay.

Of course those with more heavily modded cars won't use half this stuff but it's good that it can work for both groups. Downside is you pay a lot for stuff you won't use. So yeah, it's very complete and very well thought out. Only thing is it didn't come with rad hoses, you're expected to cut up your existing ones. It does however come with a smaller section of pipe to use to connect one side of the rad in addition to your rad hoses. The pipe has a nipple to connect to the ast. Last thing, they give you worm gear clamps over t-bolt which is pretty typical and it works but not the "best" thing. For a 3000 dollar kit you think they could throw that upgrade in.

The intercooler quality is solid. It isn't huge per say but it's very thick. I'd imagine there is a pretty low pressure drop across it. Not much else to say about it, what you see is what you get. Tube and fin style, nice finish. The rad on the other hand is probably the nicest rad I've ever seen. It has a solid construction, and nice finish, this was probably the one piece I was most impressed with. Even has that nice greddy writing on the bottom tank which I thought was a nice touch. It's probably the biggest rad you could fit in the area it goes. And also someone has already mentioned it but it's awesome having both inlet and outlet already at the top so you don't have to hack anything up, it's just perfect how it came.

Fitment and installation? Yeah this alone makes the kit worth it. Exactly what you'd expect if you've bought anything from greddy before. Just perfect. Installation was short bus easy and everything fit perfect with no need to "force" anything on. If I weren't taking my time I could have had the rad and intercooler on in 15 minutes. Comes with all the hardware and brackets obviously and the best part is that it uses existing bolt holes. Absolutely NO drilling or cutting is required. That really made it easy. Even where the fans mount to the rad.. I thought it fit better than the eom fan mounts. There was however one bolt hole for the fuse box relocation that the instruction manual said was there but my car definitely didn't have. I thought it was weird but I found my own solution. No big deal. Ducting is pretty good. I feel it could be tighter but then you run into fit meant issues depending on quality control. It does however come with some foamy strips which would help somewhat I'd imagine. Still, the fact that I don't have to go get custom ducting made is a plus in my books.

The piping from ic to elbow on mine was slightly off, only because my engine is not exactly in the stock location. I trimmed it a bit and it fit fine. Also the rad hose solution on the cars left most side wouldn't work for me because I have a water tank in the way so I figured another way out to run this. Obviously this is a problem that wouldn't really apply to anyone but me. One thing I don't know is if you are "required" to relocate the

If you have a stockish car (twins, a/c, ps) and want a v-mount, THIS IS THE KIT FOR YOU. Don't even bother messing with anything else because this has everything you will need and is just so easy. Unless of course you like dealing with fitment issues and finding your own ac/ps relocation solutions but this kit has all of that.

If you are heavily modded (single, ac/ps deleted etc..) then it's a tougher decision. I paid for a LOT of stuff I won't be using but in the end it's still a solid setup, looks great and the install is just oh so peachy.

Here's a few pics, excuse the quality of some of them, some are just camera phone and my hand was shaking like a Parkinson's victim just out of excitement.

So it came in 2 big boxes:

Box 1b (smaller box physically inside box 1. Simply amazing, how someone thought of this is beyond me):

Most of boxes 1 and 1b's contents:

The rest of box 1:

Box 2 was just the rad and instructions. Here's pretty much everything:

Thank you sir.
Yeah it should have been running last weekend but I ran into some electrical issues. No spark. Just looking for a solution now. I even put reg and insurance on it last weekend. Dang!

Mazderati 05-06-14 09:23 PM

Very cool. So who wants to put together a group buy. Heh.

Monkman33 05-06-14 09:34 PM

I contacted them. The margin is extremely slim. They will only do a group buy on a quantity of ten. And that's if they are all shipped to the same location.

And the discount will not even cover paypal fees, or the second batch of shipping. Somewhere around a $50 discount.

Doing a purchase with the base kit shipped to 99301 was around $2550 - 2600 after fees and shipping.

It really is the best deal out there.

Mazderati 05-06-14 09:56 PM

^ Emailed Nengun asking about a discount on five and the response was yes. No details on how big or small the discount.

wutangben 05-06-14 11:49 PM

not my car, but a straight on view, for those interested:

Interesting. My email is only three days old and they said ten.

Enigmatic 05-07-14 10:18 AM

Thanks for posting those images up, I've been weighing up my options for my single conversion. Seeing your set up is so good, I'll be running a 7670 on a short manifold likes yours, so I can see that the piping will be nice and direct, and there is a provision for cold air intake to be fabbed up. Beautiful.

This was yesterday. I'll reach out to Dan and ask him to confirm five units is the tipping point, as well as ask for details on the discount.

LOL 70 dollar profit? Either that number is fudged a bit or that's like the worst margin I've ever seen. Why do they even bother selling that product ? I guarantee just cause of the size that 70 bucks profit isn't worth their hassle.

Greddy must make an absolute killing though. I always wondered how they made enough money to build all those race cars and stuff cause the market isn't exactly that big relatively speaking but now I know.

Monkman33 05-07-14 01:46 PM

Well. I just got my total quote. $2556

They charge fees for credit card and paypal. And shipping was $267

They are definitely fudging numbers as you state. If they were only making $70 on a $2500+ item they wouldnt sell it period. Trust me I used to work at Boost Logic and believe me when I say EVERYONE outsources labor/materials. Manufacture it cheaper somewhere else and put your name on it. The difference between a nice kit like Greddy's and some China ebay kit is that Greddy has quality control and will not accept junk and sell it under their name. Believe what you will as some wont believe what im saying.

Monkman33 05-07-14 02:02 PM

I believe you. Im just showing how inconsistent their email story is.

They have to be making at least a few hundred to go through the trouble.

Daniel powers is with nengun though not greddy. Or at least that was my contact when I ordered through them. So nengun is the one making "70" dollars, I bet greddy makes like 40% margin on the kit so like 1000+ dollars.

All be it, nengun does have the best price. Selling it at msrp would give the dealer a much better return. And yeah getting charged 150 or so bucks to use a credit card, I'm sure they make as much off that as they do selling the actual part lol.

Well. I just ran up my credit card. (The wife/boss is wanting me to get this car running. .. and she knows how long I take to do anything custom for myself)

My order total came out the same as my previous post. If you guys start a group buy, tell them I was the first one to pay. Hopefully I can count towards getting someone else a discount at least.

And manlaw:

Looks like the full kit is around $300 cheaper from RHDJapan. May just try and hit on their monthly coupon.
