Greddy v-mount? Anyone?
So it's been a long time since a thread has come up on this and the last time it seemed like no one had any info what-so-ever about it. Just a bunch of opinionated comments a speculation - no real info.
So purely out of curiosity, now that some time has gone by, has anyone installed, used or even SEEN this kit? The only thing I could find other than the brief info on their website was this one pic from the re-extreme blog: https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PD_2dkzoA...0707_GV_08.jpg So I'm curious.. Does anyone actually have any info on this kit? |
Also interested in hearing about fitment and impressions. That's the best picture I've seen so far.
This particular v-mount set up seems like the best off the shelf kit for the simplicity and directness of the plumbing alone. I've looked at photos of the RE-A, Knightsports, and Panspeed kits and they all loop the plumbing around the engine bay in a way that seems unnecessarily complex. While other v-mount kits cross intercooler piping over top the core, Greddy keeps that area free of obstruction. Which seems like a no-brainer if incorporating a vented hood to maximize cooling. |
cool looking kit. id love to run it on my stock twins

nice looking kit, looks like its around $2500 for the full kit.
Greddy - RX7 V-Mount Layout Kit - Nengun Performance |
I had the cast 99 spec crossover pipe from that kit, just sold it. Nice piece.
|
It is a good looking kit. One of the nicest executions I've seen, along with the original Knightsports kit.

ugh, shopping for intakes for my BNRs, the only ones i like are the ones that come with this v-mount....
i almost want to shell out for the kit. i wonder what lead time/shipping is. |
hopefully they keep it in stock in the U.S.
|
They typically don't stock that in the US. Special order item from Japan.

You can get them separate eh? Greddy airinx intake kit. But the filters are really bad so I would recommend changing them. It's like 350

My buddy Sasquatch has this kit in his fd. I'd get pics for you but the problem is that he was recently abducted by a UFO while he was visiting his uncle Mr. Leprechaun at the Loch Ness.
Maybe next time. |

Priced out through Nengun the kit was around $3,000 delivered. Wonder if there's enough interest to get a group buy done.
|
We have imported several kits, used they run close to $2,000. Quality was top notch from what we saw. On par if not superior to the KS kits.

IMO the greddy FMIC wasn't anything special, the quality of the core is significantly better along with the welds. It is just a better made kit, and it should be, MSRP was close to $3800 when first released.

GB would never work.
Rotary Extreme said the following about the Greddy V-Mount core: "Greddy uses tube and fin, still a good set-up but ment more for front mount or direct airflow going through it. I have seen greddys tube and fin in person and the internal of the tubes are nicely packed with cooling fins. the greddy core is a good core." |
purerx7 - Are you able to compete with Nengun on a new kit?

Heh. Probably not. But in case others are interested, I'd commit.
