greddy for single, greddy for twin

Can someone explain to me the difference between the geddy intercoolers for single turbos, and those for twins are(they have one of each for the 3 row and 2 row). They seem to be the same size, ahve the same efficiency ratings. Is the only difference the piping, or is tehre sometihng more warrenting the 400-500 dolalrs more. This may be an ignorant question but i was just curious since i havent seen anyone address it ever.

I believe the difference is only the piping from the intercooler to the stock y pipe/crossover tube.

if this is true, then in theory you could buy the greddy for twins, then later if you choose to upgrade toa single you could fabricate piping and use the same intercooler. If this si true in theory though, how hard would it be to fabricate piping to fit the new intercooler. This is all in theory of course.
