Unhappy greddy front mount with 99spec bumper

I've run into the problem of mounting my newly bought 99spec bumper w/ rebar. The problem is, it won't fit with the Greddy 2row fmic. What should I do? I really would appreciate any help that anyone can give, especially if you have a set-up similar to the one I'm describing. Thanks for your time and responses guys.

You can either replace the rebar or hack it to death....

I have a stock nose but from what I understand, the 99 rebar is very similar. As Flybye said you just need to cut it up. Keep in mind a 93-95 rebar can be modified to fit a 99 bumper. Maybe you should use your 93-95 piece as a starting point since it is more common and hence less valauble than the 99.

You're going to need a hack saw with a corse blade. Cutting fiberglass is more like cutting wood than metal so choose your weapon accordingly. Also remember to wear protective clothing. The dust is bad for your lungs and, EXTREMELY irritating to the skin.

It's one of those projects that makes you unwilling to sell the car after completing it because the personal labor and sacrafice associated with the install is so extreme.

Thanks for the replies and the pic helped as well. The 99 rebar is much nicer and more substantial so I guess what I will do is keep on hacking up the old one. The lights are going to be the tricky part of the hack job. I guess it's back to the garage after work today. Thanks again for the posts and if I get this thing figured out anytime soon, I'll be quite pleased. It's getting nice and I'm getting antsy. And that new PFC is just waiting to be tuned!!! 8 ) Until the next problem, so long.
