Which Greddy Front Mount
Ok folks,
Going front mount because the car goes to get mapped in a few weeks.
Problem is, I cant decide between two different kits. So I thought id ask for opinions and see what peoples thoughts are.
Both kits below cost the same and I think they both have their pros and cons.
Which one to buy.....?
Option 1 - the typical Greddy Long FMIC kit with Alumnium Rad, fans, brackets etc
or Option 2 - The different shaped one that fits in almost like the Apexi kit....
People have said - its dificult to get proper cooling to the radiator on option 1 - is this true?

If you want a Greddy front mount, I would go buy a new M Spec replica instead of a used intercooler. The M spec is a direct copy of the discontinued Greddy 2 row that many people had very good results with. Yes the car may tend to run a couple degrees warmer with a front mount, but with a proper radiator it is not an issue. Both of the ones you pictured look to have considerable wear and tear on them. A new intercooler will have undamaged fins, and come with all the piping and brackets a used one is likely to be missing. I carry it, as well as the rx7 store, and some other supporting vendors.

i purchased the M-spec greddy replica from rx7store last year. i wanted to go V-mount but my budget wasnt allowing me to go that route. along with a N-flow radiator my temps have never been better, minor trimming of the front bumper and this fmic fits like a glove and very easy to install with all the parts you need and online instructions. i also like it for being more symmetrical opposed to the other fmic in the picture above
jason is just a phone call away for further assistance, only thing i would recommend would be to upgrade to T-bolt clamps as my couplings popped off after hard acceleration.
its definitely worth the money to just buy brand new, if you even just went with a normal koyo radiator and the M-spec kit your in the range of $650 give or take which is peanuts if your comparing to complete custom work or V-mount kits
good luck

Pic 1 is of the more recent M spec style intercooler. The second pic is of their first FMIC for the FD which was probably 12 years ago or so. Go with option 1 if you are choosing between the two. The radiator sits in a similar location for both intercoolers.

Thanks folks, been a busy week, first chance I've had to see what folks are saying.
I actually went with the older style. Got better photos, which showed ther are only (i counted) ten damaged fins, the rest are perfect on the intercooler.
The radiator is almost perfect too, there's one small bunch of damaged fins near a corner. Otherwise it's in excellent condition.
All mountings and pipes/hoses were included.
To be honest I'm glad I went for this. The core is only a tiny bit smaller overall but it's 4 inch thick instead of 3...... Think I made a wise choice.
