greddy FMIC and car overheating
I just installed this thing last weekend and everything has been great. But on my lunch break, the temp got to 116 degrees according to the fc commander ( about 3 quaters of the way on gauge), it usally stays at about 85-95 on average. Now I live in Florida and it was the hottest its been in a while plus sitting in stoplight traffic didn't help. I thought this might be normal because of the radiator haveing to be moved into the engine bay. I have the fan mod though so thier always on. It dosent appear to have a coolent leak at all. Basically, do any of you FMIC guys have slightly hotter temps on hot days in traffic than before. Not quite over heating but just holding at high temp like that. Thanks.

When you're sitting in traffic, you're temps should be higher at all, unless you have a 35mph wind comming at your car. If you're fans are on, your temps should NOT exceed 100. Staying around 88-95 is the normal range.
If you aren't experiencing any coolant leaks, look at upgrading the radiator if you already haven't and thermostat

Did you say your temperature got to 116C = 235F?
If so, you really need to be concerned because at that temperature you are on the verge of toasting your engine, if you haven't already.

I was running the a/c. I had been monitering the temp since the install and its never got above 95. This was the first time since the install, which was done about 10 days ago, it got that high. Peak hold recorded 115 in traffic that day. I was sitting their, windows down, heater on, saying "oh ****, oh ****, oh ****, oh ****....," but it never passed 115. Just stayed their like it was a normal temp. When I drove it home at night temps didn't go above 85. I have a brand new radiator, but its a stock one. Its a long story why I don't have a fluidyne, I'm pissed I don't. It had just slightly rained and the sun was blazing which equals some muggy-*** weather, so that could of been the problem. I guess over the next few days I'll have to check it out. I always heard of bad cooling problem with FMIC, but most people claim that to be more of a myth that a problem most of the time. Oh well...., just another thing to worry about I guess in the rx-7 world. Any other personal experiances or suggestions would be cool to know. Thanks again.

I would really suggest getting the datalogit and setting the fan temps a bit lower. I was shocked at my settings when I downloaded them off the PFC. My car had been running warm, even with a Fluidyne, hitting the 95 degree range on a regular basis (I'm in the extreme south, subtropical Florida to give you an idea). Since setting the fan temps lower, the only time I see above 90 is when I shut the car off and turn it back on.
