Gps/2-way Radio System/fuel Problems.
Just to update, had a few threads on Fuel probs with the FD and tried everything Rewired the whole damn thing still did'nt change anything read the whole section on wiring and fuel systems on the FD and tried everything, bought a new ECU, new RELAYS new FUEL RESISTOR took it to many diff auto elecs none of them knew what was going on and most of them wouldnt attempt to even fix it, anyway by now its been months and my car is now parked in the garage and is not being used, so tonight i thought id open the book up and see whats goin with this ride because its a shame its not on the road anyway i came up with something that could be the cause of my spending $400 a week on petrol and screwing up my new engine because its running so unbelievably rich.
I was reading in the manual that if you have a 2way radio system installed it shouldnt be high powered and that it could affect the CIS (continous fuel injection system) When i first imported the car it had no stereo in it and it was not running so i couldnt start it up and monitor its health, after i got my engine rebuilt to get the car running again this prob was there, I got fault codes giving me a code-51 short or ground to short in my fuel system, my pump is running on a constant 14V feed from my alternator, most stock fd's have a resitor and a speed relay setup that flick the voltage for low revs/ high revs, low should be around 9V and high as much as your alrenator makes 13.8 give or take a volt, as i was saying when i got the car it had a GPS system in it but the main unit was ripped out only left with the wiring and some extra bits, antennas, the wiring came all the way into my stereo bay and there was a few cut wires in that area and some other **** installed, im wondering if anyone has a system like this installed or a police radio scanner or simmilar have suffered from fuel problems and simmilar, Any help would be apriciated.
