Gotta respect the FD...

I swapped ends in the wet not even going fast in 3rd gear and only the primary came online. It was only boosting to 3 psi at the time. I almost got it back but finally screwed up and over-corrected on the 3rd correction so I did a 180. I was only doing like 35 mph on a slow sweeper.
I agree with most people about the 15 y/o thing, no way my kid would be driving one. Maybe a beat up civic for the first wreck. I'd rather sacrifice a Honda to the learning curve than an FD.
Just my humble opinion.

There is a reason rear wheel drive sports cars have expensive insurance for young boys. Statistical analysis says you are likely to crash. Young boys doing stupid things is expected.

Actually, IMO the reason that most of these kids have these cars is because insurance companies rate them at 1.3 litre 4 cylinders. The have no idea how much power they posess. Kinda messed up but the insurance isn't very high on the RX-7. I'm not complaining though.

Agreed that a 15 yr old should not be driving an FD, not only for his safety but the safety of others. It isnt a very practicle DD either. FWD ftw in snowy/icy/rainy conditions. I had the possibility a year ago to buy an FB/FC for the money i had saved up for my first car. I ended up not getting one because i figured that it would be too much to handle, especially in snowy maine. Plus rotaries get crap for gas mileage and aren't as reliable as id like for a kid still in high school and on a budget... but money doesn't seem an object for this 15 yr old Having said that, i will pick up a cheap rolling FC/FD shell for my first project in college. Oh, and I bought a 1994 acura integra rs with 168 ooo miles for my first car at 17.

Every one of the cars listed that you were not allowed to get, would be SO much more safe, cheap, and reliable. Did they even drive any of the cars in question? -Tanjo

You know, I gotta give him some credit for having the gumption to admit error on this forum. This crowd is particularly harsh on the general (not a bad thing, as it creates a less lenient mindset for error. Heck, the mindset on this forum has actually helped with my overall view of my FD. I have more paranoia to do things right, and as such I research EVERYTHING to a redundant thoroughness.
Props for fessing up, And kudos to surviving to learn the lesson. Now please be careful.
