got to replace the radiator last night
Well, after 83,000 miles my radiator started leaking from the seam between the upper tank and the core. I could see coolant dribbling from under the intercooler scoop. Crap.
I located a new radiator here in Dallas for $265 from 1-800 RADIATOR; they even delivered it to me in 2 hours. Price is good, but it still has plastic tanks. Looks to be exactly like the stock one and it fit absolutely perfectly. I figured the first one lasted this long, so I would save the money and not go for the ($$$) all aluminum ones available. Took me three hours start to finish; including flushing the cooling system and replacing some hoses. Job wasn't hard at all.
Thanks to everyone who has posted the tip about removing the upper throttle body coolant hose when filling the system. Only had to add about a pint more after the initial fill. Without doing this it is a real PITA.
