Got a question for the experts

Ok, maybe this was covered before, but I can't seem to find a link anywhere. I've got a downpipe and a catback on my 93 R1 right now, and am looking into getting an intake in the near future. Now I'm definately gonna get a boost controller with the intake, but my question is, do I need to have the engine tuned if I set the boost controller to 10 psi and keep it there permanently (until I get a bigger intercooler and an ecu)? Any info would be great.

The 3 mod rule. I would recommend getting a stand alone even if you do restrict to 10psi...

You don't necessarily need the PFC you could just get the a remapped ECU for your mods. People sell them quite often in the for sale section. But if you're planning to mod more in the future and are willing to spend the money on the PFC, well then more power to you.

You should be fine if you keep the boost under 10psi. This has been discussed often. Get a Profec B boost controller to control the boost. Save up for a Power FC or an M2, PFS type ECU.

Negative. With a downpipe, exhaust, intake and larger intercooler, if you can keep boost set @ 10 PSI max, you're all good.
