Cool Got my dyno results back from KD Rotary today!

My father talked with Dave today, so I don't have many details, but....he tuned my R1 with the datalogit, and she put down 368 wheel horsepower at 15 psi . That's with ngk race plugs leading, stock twins, bonez high flow cat, and a very conservative a/f ratio of 11.2:1.

I wasn't expecting nearly as much, esp. with the midpipe removed (no more flames ) and Dave's conservative tuning.

I'm wondering how much stress it'll put on the stockers by running 15# all the time? I might dial it back to 13.

At any rate, it's time to start celebrating!

Wow, those are some great numbers on the stock twins. Congratulations. What was Dave's impression on tuning with the Datalogit?

Turn back the boost or smoke em and get some M2 upgrades. I'm replacing mine right now I was running 14 to 16lbs
for about a year and there still making boost just blowing a bit of oil. If you run over 12lbs your outside there efficiency range anyway but it sure is fun.

Cool

VERY nice numbers!

what changes have you made to gain the extra 31 RWHP from your previous dyno run, with a high-flow cat instead of a midpipe to boot?? im gussing only 2 extra PSI and better tuning?? anything else??

time to update that sig!

Lightbulb

Red FD: The injectors and fuel pump were a necessity...my motor most likely would've blown sky high with stock inj's and pump. I think one of the big reasons I made good power was using the datalogit to tune the Power FC as well.

Neevosh: Dunno about Dave's impressions about the datalogit, but my FD was the very first to get tuned with it My father saw dave exploring it when he first got it, and said the capabilites of the datalogit are pretty awesome.

Joe D: You're right on the money. Just needed some good tuning to make the extra power.

Samuel L: The airpump added at least three quarters of a pony...btw, it showed up on thursday; thanks for sending it so quick

GSRSol: Nope, just the standard Greddy pulley kit. Btw, have you gotten that suspension yet to lower your 7 ?

Gordon: I agree with you 100%. I plan on running 12# the majority of the time, and 15# occasionally when racing or when I have a bug up my ***

94touring: Waiting on the torque #s. I'll post the dyno sheet when I get it from Dave.

Martini: Thanks for reminding me. Done

Qball: Stock sequential. First thing I had Dave do way back in '99 was the silicone hose/zip tie deal, and I've never had a boost problem (aside from creep with the midpipe).

Did I mention that ever since hearing about how much power my R1 made I'm happier than a pig in **** ?

Wow, I wasn't expecting that high, especially with a hi-flo cat - I guess Dave builds a good motor I saw a non-seq. FD with exact same mods as you and I pull down 361 rwhp at 13 psi on his dyno (before he got the datalogit) and that was with a hi-flo cat! I'll be up there in the summer getting some upgraded twins and injectors put in and finally a dyno - I'll probably be tuned for 13-14 psi though - Nice numbers! Now go spank a Z06

Actually the #'s are about right for 15 psi...Many of us here run 15 psi.... most of the time. One of the guys ALWAYS runs 15 psi and has been doing so for years. You can also run the stock injectors but must have a hipo fuel pump. ( I have seen a 400 rwhp car, T-78 on stock injectors with no problems...although I wouldn't do it.)

I gotta say I'm very impressed with the numbers. Now how are you gonna keep the *** end on the ground?

Being laid off for 5 months kinda drained my bank account so maybe next month I will have the coilovers. Should be around the time you come back.
