Got all my brake upgrade stuff, I hope!

I have all of this for my brake upgrad tomorrow, is this all I need?

I have caliper paint to paint calipers, I bought caliper rebuild kits from mazdatrix, brake fluid, ss braided lines, and pads. What other tools/things do I need to do everything?(bleed the lines, install pads, lines, paint calipers, rebuild)

Brake cleaner. You might also get some fine sand paper (I think I used 800 and 1000 grit IIRC) and a Scotch Pad to clean up the pistons when they are removed.

Ok, brake cleaner is a check, I am pretty sure I have a scotch pad and fine sand paper. Thanks a bunch Mahjik!

also, just double check the areas that you paint. You don't want to paint the areas that the pad seats in as that will decrease the clearance and not allow them to move freely....ask me how i know

use some fine steel wool to clean the caliper piston. it should just have some varnish on it and no scoring. use the sand paper to get the crap off the slides the caliper/pads ride on. are you getting new rotors or turning them? if your pads let you make sure to reuse the anti rattle clips. glwi

I hope you've got enough fluid - you can use a TON of fluid bleeding brakes after changing the lines. That's my big concern.

You'll also need the tool to screw the rear pistons back into the caliper. It's a small cube tool that you can put a socket wrench on - it has little nubs that protrude that fit into the slots on the piston. Hard to explain, but should be easy to find at any auto parts store - just look for the cube that has "rear brake tool" or something on it.

Hi-temp brake caliper grease for the rear caliper slider pins. I think you might end up needing more brake fluid and more brake parts cleaner, too. Speedbleeders or a pressure bleeder (but not a vacuum bleeder -- those don't work well in my experience) will make the bleeding a much faster, one-man operation, too. Speedbleeders don't work well with lots of air in the lines, though, like you will get when you replace the lines. And I've never seen my preferred device, a pressure bleeder, at an auto parts store, but you can order one at http://motiveproducts.com.

I want to turn the rotors, what do I do exactly? Just turn them around? ( Whoa, that just sounds stupid.)

I got another liter of fluid, just didn't pictures it. Also I am going to get brake fluid today, thanks!

That means grinding them down on a lathe to correct any unevenness they may have gained. Most auto shops that do brakes can do that for you.

You also need a piston turning tool to turn back the piston in the rear and a c clamp to push in the pistons in the front.

Make sure you remove the rubber dust boots first...that makes getting the pistons out much easier since there's a notch underneath that you can use as leverage if they are stuck. Also the rebuild kit is just a mazda part...so you should be able to get it from any dealer.

hmm. my brother is a 15 yearold that has a lot of spare time. so he COMPLETLY redid his brakes all the way around on his fc. like he got rebuilt rear calipers, tore them apart, and rebuilt them. he took some pics of all the stuff he did, ill see if i can get him to post them on here. he is so freaken **** about everything! buti guess i would do taht too if i couldnt drive my car

advice from me. see if you can get ahold of a beadblaster *sandblaster might work too, but im too scared that the sand will be too hard on the alum* and clean the calipers. this will get all the brakedust and crud off and leave a nice texture to paint on. just make sure you put a bolt in the brakeline hole!
