good launch

What would you guys recommend for a good launch? I've been practicing a good bit, but I'm still slipping a little in first gear. Frankly, I don't know much about what makes a good launch so I don't even know if what I'm doing is right...

Anyone got any advice for how to get off the line the fastest?

I'm running stock turbos, m2 cold air intake, ss downpipe, and a pretty nice 3'' diameter exhaust system... everything else is stock so im probably putting out 250ish HP

wheels are pretty new and have a lot left in em. they're about the same size as stock wheels and I can't remember exactly what they're called (i didnt buy em, my dad did all the work with gettin new wheels)

The best way (or so I've heard) is to slip the clutch from anywhere from 3-4k rpms. This is assuming you have street tires. If you have drag radials, drop it from 6k and pray that the diff doesn't break.

tires and temp have alot to do with a good launch. I have been told from someone with a 700rwhp FD that P-zeros are the stickiest street tires. He said he gets traction in 3rd gear. I think that's pretty sticky for that powerful of a car

Actually the FD came stock with 255 HP and with your mods you are probably around 275 HP.

He was referring to "rwhp" in which case a healthy stock FD is around 220rwhp.

I launch mine at exactly 3k rpm with Michelin pilot sports 255/40/17 rear tires. If i launch at 3500rpm it won't stop spinning. I've got the 99spec (280hp stock) with intakes and cat back so our power should be around the same levels.

No problem. I learned by doing exactly what you're doing now, so I know where you're coming from on a lot of your questions. Good luck with the launching, and the drag racing to follow.
